Kashmir: Jaish-e-Mohammed hideout busted by Army, police

In a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, a terrorist hideout in Shopian was busted on Thursday

Shopian: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday busted a terrorist hideout in Ramnagri area of Shopian district. This is the second big success for the security forces within a week in Shopian.

A senior police official told MyNation that a joint operation was launched by Jammu and Kashmir Police and 23 Para of Indian Army after receiving a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in the area.

However, the terrorists have escaped from the spot but the police have recovered material used for making IEDs.

Sources told MyNation that the IEDs made here were being used to target vehicles of the security forces. Some material seized from the hideout suggest the involvement of terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The police have also seized incriminating materials that were recovered from the hideout. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law.
