Srinagar: A Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police was martyred while two others were injured in an encounter with terrorists at Deyarwani area of Batmaloo in Srinagar on Sunday.
Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Shesh Paul Vaid said that the Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched following specific inputs about the presence of the terrorists in the area.
“On a specific information about presence of terrorists in a hideout, an operation was launched in Batmaloo Srinagar leading to exchange of fire, one SOG boy martyred, one JKP & 2 CRPF jawans sustained injuries, operation continues,” Vaid tweeted on Sunday.
