Sopore: The security forces have gunned down a militant on Friday during an encounter in the Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
The joint operation was launched by the 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Following the encounter, authorities have suspended mobile internet services and have imposed restrictions in the town and surrounding areas to maintain law and order.

After the security forces received a tip-off about militants hiding in the Warpora village, they immediately launched a cordon and search operation.
Realising that they were trapped, the militants started firing at the security forces triggering the ongoing encounter.
After a brief gunfight, the security forces managed to kill one of the militants. However, the identity of the slain terrorist is yet to be ascertained.
