Jammu and Kashmir police have rushed to the spot to investigate and search operations are being carried out to catch the terrorists

Shopian: At least four policemen were killed in a militant attack in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. The militants robbed the jawans of their weapons and put their photographs up on social media.

Sources told MyNation that the terrorists attacked the convoy of the deputy superintendent of police deployed at Shopian headquarters. The injured soldiers were rushed to the hospital, where they all died. The martyred were identified as constable Ishfaq Ahmed Mir, constable Mohammad Iqbal Mir, constable Javid Ahmed Bhat and SPO Adil Manjhar Bhat.

The brave policemen who embraced death in the line of duty were

  1. Constable Ishfaq Ahmad Mir (758/SPN), son of Abdul Aziz Mir, resident of Watergam, Dangiwacha
  2. Constable Mohammad Iqbal Mir (760/SPN), son of Abdul Rahim Mir, resident of Hardu Chanam Rohoma (Rafiabad)
  3. Constable Javid Ahmad Bhat (806/SPN), son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, R/o Panzipora Sumbal
  4. Senior Police Officer Adil Manzoor Bhat (395/SPO), son of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, resident of Zawoora Shopian

Jammu and Kashmir police have rushed to the spot to investigate and search operations are being carried out to catch the terrorists.

The terrorists want to spread panic by targeting the police of Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier this month, on Eid, three policemen who were not on active duty were killed by terrorists in three separate attacks.

Speaking to MyNation, DGP SP Vaid said that the terrorists are attacking the police like petty thieves when they are not on duty. If they came out and attacked the jawans, they would be capable of retaliation.

In fact, the terrorist organisations have been disturbed by the continuous success of security forces in Operation All Out. This is why the Jammu-Kashmir police are being targeted. This year, around 35 policemen have lost their lives in terror attacks.

Deobandi jihadist group Jaish-e-Mohammed has taken responsibility of the terror attack in Shopian.
