Jammu and Kashmir: Terror base, established to provide winter stocks to terrorists, busted

Shopian: Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with 23 Para of Indian Army, busted a terror base in Yarwan forests of Shopian district on Sunday, which was established to provide stocks to terrorists during snowfall.

SSP Shopian Sandeep Chaudhary told MyNation that a joint operation was launched, following which the major terror hideout was busted.

The hideout was tactfully established in a deep hole covered with mud. Aimed to provide stocks to terrorists, the hideout was filled with a variety of items. Security personnel recovered daily food items like dal, atta, cooking oil, bottles of jams, gas cylinders, water barrels, and cutlery items.



Several tarpaulins, curtains with wooden rods, candles, rat kill poisons, blankets, axes, sickles and saws were also found.
 
Not only this, cosmetics, electrical appliances like batteries, smartphone chargers were recovered. 

The senior police official also told MyNation that they have inputs about several other terror bases like this in different parts of Kashmir. If not busted, they could provide sustainable stocks for terrorists in winters.
