Srinagar: Terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin’s son Shakeel was arrested on Thursday morning by a joint team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), CRPF and local police.

The NIA team arrested him after raiding a house in Srinagar's Rambagh area between 3-4 am early in the morning.

Sources told MyNation that the NIA team started exploring Shakeel's house, and after a while, arrested him and took him along.

Police sources said that Shakeel has been taken to a joint interrogation centre, where the central agency will interrogate him further. He will be taken to Delhi.

Shakeel is the second son of Syed Salahuddin, who has been arrested by the NIA. Earlier, the investigating agency had arrested Syed Shahid in a money laundering case last year. He is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi.
