Responding to Fauzia Hassan's demand for compensation, former ISRO chief Nambi Narayanan said to media that Fauzia had spent more years in jail than any other accused. The public and the Kerala administration should help her in the fight for justice.
Kozhikode: Fauzia Hassan, accused in ISRO spy case, is all set to face the legal battle. She was one of the two Maldivian women, who spent around three years in the jail in Kerala with respect to the fake ISRO espionage case.
Fauzia demanded compensation for being falsely arrested and tortured by the Kerala Police over two decades ago.

She alleged that police officer S Vijayan is behind this. “We were victims of the case. We also deserve compensation from the Kerala government. We are hopeful that as Nambi Narayanan received justice, we will also receive justice,” clarified Fauzia.
“We will go forward with a legal battle alleging conspiracy behind the ISRO spy case. We hope to get justice. We did not even know Nambi Narayanan. We saw him for the first time in CBI custody,” said Fauzia during an interview with a Malayalam channel.

Meanwhile, DC Books in Kerala have published a book on her titled 'Oru (Chara) Vanithayude Velipeduthalukal' (Revelations of a lady spy).

Nambi Narayanan, who was acquitted in the infamous ISRO espionage case, was handed over a cheque of Rs 50 lakh by Kerala chief minister as compensation, ordered by the Supreme Court. 24 years ago, Nambi Narayanan was arrested. In the gathering held at Durbar Hall, Pinarayi Vijayan presented the cheque to Nambi Narayanan.
After receiving the cheque, Narayanan said that it is a pleasure to get compensation within three weeks after the verdict of the Supreme Court. Narayanan added that he is happy the state government supported him. Nambi Narayanan also requested the government to provide humanitarian aid to the innocent people, who were tortured in the cheating case.
