Srinagar: In a major success against reviving terrorism in Jammu, the state police, along with military intelligence arrested an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent from Kishtwar.
The police on Thursday morning arrested a local youth, identified as Sehran Sheikh, a resident of Malipeth area of Kishtwar. A senior police official told MyNation that the youth was in contact with Pakistan’s ISI and terror outfit Harkat-ul-Mujahideen through social media, and was sharing videos of security installations.
“He was working as an enemy agent and was gathering information on the establishments of Jammu and Kashmir Police, armed forces and Army deployment. There were inputs that he was planning to carry out terror attacks on the security forces,” the official added.
Sources told MyNation that Sheikh was asked by terror commanders from Pakistan to send more videos of political rallies and security installations. He was also asked to snatch weapons from the deployed security personnel.

Agencies have also issued an alert to the state police saying that there are apprehensions of the same kind of terror attack on civilians by terror outfits ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
