Nowgam: Four Army personnel were injured in an encounter as the Indian Armed Forces foiled an infiltration bid in Nowgam sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday.
Sources in the Army told MyNation that the Army’s Bihar regiment noticed movement along the LoC in Nowgam sector. “On being challenged, the armed intruders opened fire on the troops. They responded with retaliatory fire in equal measure,” he said. Four Army personnel sustained injuries and were evacuated for further medical treatment in the Army base hospital in Srinagar.
Additional forces are being rushed in, and search-and-sanitisation operations are being continued, till the last reports came in.
According to the intelligence report, “Pakistan intelligence agencies and the Pakistani Army continues its nefarious designs of supporting and abetting infiltration across the LoC, and have been vitiating the atmosphere both along LoC and hinterland.”
