New Delhi: A day after Pakistan Army regulars and terrorists killed three Indian soldiers in an attack on the Line of Control, the Army today warned Islamabad against allowing terrorists to launch attacks from Pakistani soil.
India alleged that, despite the Indian Army maintaining restraint to honour the ceasefire along the LoC, seven major infiltration attempts have been made by the Pakistan Army since May 30 to push terrorists into India. Twenty-three of them were eliminated in the process.
“Reports suggest a concentration of a large number of terrorists in the launch pads, desperate to infiltrate before the onset of snow. A stern warning has been conveyed to Pakistan Army to restrain the terrorists operating from its soil,” Army officials said.
The Indian Army said it had been maintaining utmost restraint to uphold the ceasefire along the LoC despite regular provocative actions from across the border, but the “Pakistan Army has been vigorously attempting to send terrorists across the LoC.
Since May 30, seven infiltration bids have been foiled by the Indian Army, in which 23 terrorists have been killed.
On Sunday, armed intruders from Pakistan had attacked an Indian Army patrol along the LoC the in Sunderbani sector. “Three Indian Army soldiers were killed and one suffered injuries in the unprovoked cross-border action by Pakistan. During the ensuing firefight, two intruders were killed, too. The intruders were wearing combat uniform; however, their identity could not be ascertained,” the Army said.
“Pakistan Army has been informed through established communication channels to take over the bodies of the hostile Pakistani nationals,” the officials said.
In the past, Pakistan refused to accept the bodies of its own soldiers. It denies having any role in pushing terrorists into India.
