New Delhi: While states are gearing up for elections, terror outfits based in Pakistan have sent terrorists to disturb the election mood. According to sources, there is a wave of terrorists entering into India from the Jammu and Kashmir border. Central Intelligence Agency - Intelligence Bureau (IB) has received inputs that almost 27 terrorists have been trying to infiltrate, out of which 12 have already gotten in.
On Friday, in the third time in the last month, the Punjab Police have raised an alarm about six suspects roaming in Pathankot area. An alarm was raised by locals who informed police regarding the movement of suspected people in the area, Punjab Police launched a massive manhunt operation in Pathankot and its adjoining areas.
"Terrorists are traveling through Jammu to Punjab and may reach Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, etc. There have been inputs from local police as well regarding missing vehicles and unknown persons roaming at the border areas. These terrorists are planning to attack during elections," a senior intelligence official said.
“They can target rallies with hand grenades as it happened in the Amritsar attack, where 3 people died. Also, rallies, especially in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, are under threat,” the official said.
“Two photos have been shared by the intelligence agency which was clicked at Wagah border after the ceremony. It is uncertain when these photos were clicked. Inputs have come in that these two terrorists, along with others, left for Jammu and entered Punjab to reach Delhi,” the official said.
A senior police official told MyNation that locals in the border village of Pathankot reported suspicious movement of six people roaming in the area wearing Army combat. He said, “Keeping in view the recent terror threats, we have launched a search operation in the area”.
