The last date for filing income tax returns for assessment year 2018-19 has been extended by a month and people can now file it till August 31.
A Finance Ministry statement confirmed the news today.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), upon consideration of the matter, decided to extend the due date for filing of Income Tax Returns from July 31, 2018 to August 31, 2018.
