Income tax officials will question former AIADMK leader VK Sasikala to seek clarification on seized documents.
Bengaluru: It was in November of last year when Income Tax (I-T) officials conducted raids in 187 locations across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry and Delhi. The raids revealed around Rs 1,430 crore of undeclared income with Jaya TV, a media house that has been linked with the AIADMK as their mouth piece. Undeclared income was also found with VK Divakaran, brother of VK Sasikala and other family members.
The raid lasted for five days and along with Rs 7 crore in cash, the authorities also found assets of gold worth Rs 5 crore and a huge collection of diamond jewellery.
The I-T officials had written to the state home department for a meeting with VK Sasikala at Parappana Agrahara central prison in the city to seek clarification on certain documents that were seized during the raid.
The prison officials have agreed to comply, and the meeting will take place on December 13 and 14.
