GST fake invoice racket busted: Three arrested in Bengaluru

Three people have been arrested for generating fake GST invoices in Bengaluru. Many companies are said to be using fake invoices to save tax money.

Bengaluru: Three people involved in creating fake GST invoices have been arrested by the police after their fraud was revealed by Bengaluru south commissionerate of the central government. A number of companies were found to be involved in issuing fake invoices that were repeatedly used. Finally, when it reached an iron steel product manufacturing company, who took credit of input tax on the basis of these invoices, the fraud came to light. A search was conducted on November 12  and cops seized incriminating documents from 25 locations. Three key persons behind generating these invoices were nabbed. During the interrogation, they are said to have confessed.  After arrest, they were produced before the magistrate, who sent them to judicial custody for 14 days.
