Govt's application to SC on Ayodhya: Modi's masterstroke

If the lands around the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site go back to the original owners, it means that the site would be surrounded by mostly Hindus, no matter which party to the dispute wins the case in Supreme Court. This is a masterstroke that pitches the Modi government as a pro-Hindu force even as there can legally be no recourse against it.
