Tamil Nadu’s BJP youth wing’s vice president SG Suryah asked why #GoBackSonia was not making news. He pointed out that when #GoBackModi trended on Twitter earlier this year, everyone went gaga over it and news channels reported on it nonstop.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu’s BJP youth wing’s vice president SG Suryah lashed out at journalists on Sunday for failing to report on the hashtag #GoBackSonia, which was started trending on the Twitter head of the UPA chairperson’s visit to Chennai for the unveiling of the statue of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

Suryah, accusing journalists of being biased, asked why #GoBackSonia was not making news. He pointed out that when #GoBackModi trended on Twitter earlier this year, everyone went gaga over it and news channels reported on it nonstop.

Every single Tamil journalist went gaga over Go Back Modi trend. They were integral part who planned & helped to trend it & made it big by reporting it non-stop in their news channels. Now there is a National trend these journos will neither tweet nor report as news.

The Prime Minister visited Chennai to attend the Defence Expo 2018 and inaugurate four facilities at the Adyar Cancer Institute.

Though #GoBackSonia was among the top 5 trends on Twitter since Sunday morning, Suryah said that journalists would neither tweet nor report on it. However, these journalists, the BJP youth wing member said, helped to trend #GoBackModi and made it big.

Sonia Gandhi, along with Congress president Rahul Gandhi and several opposition leaders, will be attending the Karunanidhi’s statue unveiling ceremony on Sunday at the DMK headquarters. Superstar Rajinikanth is also expected to participate in the functions. Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy will also be there.
