Sudheeran has not disclosed the reason for his resignation. However, KPCC leadership has not responded to his decision to quit

Senior Congress leader and former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) chief VM Sudheeran has resigned from the UDF high power committee on 2 August.

He has informed the decision to the KPCC. Sudheeran had sent his resignation via e-mail to KPCC president MM Hassan.

Sudheeran had earlier criticised the KPCC-UDF leadership over the controversy surrounding the Rajya Sabha seats which were given to the Kerala Congress.

When UDF leader KM Mani came for the meeting after he returned to the party, Sudheeran walked out from the meeting and criticised the party for giving Mani Rajya Sabha seat.

UDF convener PP Thankachan said that he did not receive the resignation letter of Sudheeran. He said that Sudheeran had not contacted him over phone or informed him about the resignation in any other way, he added.

It is hinted that the argumentative stand of the UDF against the criticism raised by Sudheeran led to the resignation. He had earlier resigned from the KPCC president post pointing out that the groups are not allowing him to work properly.

Meanwhile, Sudheeran has not disclosed the reason for his resignation. However, KPCC leadership has not responded to his resignation.

People also allege that Sudheeran might join either BJP or LDF. Also, there are reports that Kerala BJP president VM Sreedharan Pillai has invited Sudheeran to join the party.
