Kannur: Even after intense search operations, the Kerala Police have failed to make any breakthrough in the case of two college girls who went missing from Panoor in Kannur.
The 20-year-old girls, Drishya and Sayana, are missing since Monday. On November 19, they went to college and did not return home. The same day, the girls’ families filed a complaint at the local police station.

The police said that the girls’ mobile phones were last used at the Kannur railway station. Since then, the phones have not been switched on, the police added.
The police received information that some lookalikes of the girls were spotted in Mysuru (Karnataka), Thaliparambu, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram. But they have not been able to confirm those were the missing girls they were looking for.
Sayana’s parents said that the girls were close friends since their childhood. Everyday they used to talk on their mobile phones for hours, they said. The girls’ parents had advised them to limit the use of phones.
The police said further that Drishya’s wedding has been fixed. They added that the duo had arrived in Panoor on Sayana’s scooter. The two-wheeler was found parked on the roadside.
The missing girls were pursuing lab technician course at a private institution in Panoor. There are reports that, on the day they went missing, they went to a travel agency and made enquiries about trains to Thiruvananthapuram.
