Elderly couple murdered in Chennai, gold jewellery looted

The elderly couple near Avadi, Chennai, on Tuesday morning was found dead. Reports say that gold jewellery weighing at least 70 sovereigns was also missing. The bodies of the couple were found lying on the floor of the hall. Police obtained a blood-stained wooden stick from the house. The deceased have been identified as Jagadeesan, 67, and Vishalini, 60.
