The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has asked the states to accept driving license, registration certificate or other related documents in digital form obtained through Digilocker or mParivahan. This will be reflected through eChallan system. There were complaints that traffic police were not accepting the digital driving licence, so the Government of India has made it clear and now the police cannot say no to the electronic form of RC, licence and other documents. Even the information related to vehicle insurance will be reflected in the apps. Now the states that have not adapted to this change, will have to upload all the information into Vahan/Sarathi database. Here are five simple steps to convert the hard copy of documents, driving license into digital form.
