Dhakuria, Kolkata: Parents protesting against sexual assault on student lathi-charged

Kolkata's Dhakuria Primary School turned a scene of unrest when angry parents gheraoed school administration officials in protest of an alleged sexual assault on one of the students. A few days ago, a school teacher had allegedly taken the victim to room number 10 that does not have a CCTV camera. He sexually assaulted the student. Angry parents shouted slogans on Tuesday inside the school premises; some resorted to violence. Many vehicles parked near the school were damaged. Kolkata Police lathi-charged the aggrieved parents. Many of them were left bleeding profusely.
