The Delhi police have not initiated any action in the alleged case of sexual harassment in which a former member of the Congress’ social media department had accused her former colleague Chirag Patnaik of molestation even after 20 days of the FIR.
She had also accused department head Divya Spandana of mentally harassing her after she had brought the matter to Spandana’s notice. The victim had also alleged that Spandana was trying to shield the accused, who is said to be her close aide.
According to highly-placed police sources, who requested anonymity, there was no movement in the investigation and no one had even been called for questioning in the matter though the FIR had been lodged on July 13.
She had originally lodged her complaint straight at the mail address of the Delhi Police commissioner almost a week before the FIR was lodged by police.
The distraught victim, said sources close to her, was demoralised after police inaction.
Even sources North Avenue police station, where the FIR was lodged, confirmed that there was no development in the investigation.
In her FIR the victim had said that she was stared at and her personal space violated against her wish by the accused even as she had made it clear to him that his advances were unwelcome. She had also made a complaint to this effect to the Congress high command and president Rahul Gandhi who did not respond.
