CPI(M) leader MM Lawrence said his grandson's participation in the BJP programme was wrong. He said Milan’s participation in the Sabarimala protest took place without his knowledge.
Thiruvananthapuram: On October 30(Tuesday), CPI(M) leader MM Lawrence's grandson had participated in a protest organised by the BJP fighting the Sabarimala verdict. Milan Lawrence Emmanuel took part in the one-day fast led by BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai in front of the DGP office.
MM Lawrence said his grandson's participation in the BJP programme was wrong and that it was done without his knowledge.
He also said that BJP is trying to grab every Keralite and they are the ones actually spreading “communalism”. Milan told reporters that he reached there as part of the protest. When he was asked whether his parents knew about his participation in the protest, he said that it is his personal interest.
BJP staged a one-day hunger strike in front of the DGP office to protest the police action with regard to the issue of women’s entry into Sabarimala temple. They are also organising protest meets in all district police headquarters.
Milan said that he likes to enter politics and he is not yet affiliated to any political party. However, Sreedharan Pillai said that Milan's mother brought him there.
