Asaduddin Owaisi had alleged further that he had the call records to prove the charges; he said nobody could buy him
Hyderabad: On Monday evening, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi had alleged that some Congress leaders offered him Rs 25 lakh party fund if he agreed to cancel a party meeting in Nirmal town in Adilabad, Telangana.
Owaisi also alleged that he had the call records to prove the charge. He asserted that nobody could buy him. He said further that he would sacrifice his life and never compromise on the party interests.
The public meeting was held in Nirmal town on Monday evening. While AIMIM is not contesting in Nirmal, Owaisi was present there to campaign for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi's (TRS) candidate P Indrakaran Reddy. The AIMIM has struck a deal of backing TRS candidates for the upcoming Telangana Assembly election.
The AIMIM will be contesting from a limited number of seats. Its focus is on the seven seats in Hyderabad old city, which were held by its representatives in the recently dissolved Assembly. The AIMIM is believed to be strong in two other Muslim-dominated constituiencies, Nirmal and Bhaimsa in Adilabad district.
