From Christian Michel’s extradition to ease of doing business, India grew leaps and bounds in past 4 years: PM Modi

New Delhi: At the Republic TV Summit on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a keynote speech about ‘Surging India’, the theme of the annual summit. “Surging India - the two words - are the expression of 130 crore Indians. These are the feelings, vibrations which the world is witnessing. In the world society, India's growth is moving ahead in a very fast manner. India's image in front of the world is getting better with each passing day,” PM Modi said.

The PM highlighted India’s growth in the past few years, ever since the BJP came to power.

Highlights of his speech
 

• Four years ago, did anyone think that within no time India will take its step forward to join the Five Trillion Dollar Economies Club?
   
• In the ease of doing the business ranking, India moved from 142 to 77th position. And India is taking rapid actions to come under the top 50.
   
• Did anyone think that an auto-driver, vegetable vendor and even a tea seller will use Bheem App and he will keep a debit card in his pocket, four years ago?
   
• Did anyone think that India's aviation sector will soar so high that there will be a need to order 1000 new helicopters? 
   
• Did anyone think that National Waterways will be a reality in India? That a helicopter from Bengal will sail on River Ganga to Benaras?
   
• Four years ago, did anyone think that we would be testing a Made In India engine-less train that will run at a speed of 180 km/per hr?
   
• Did anyone think that India will launch 100 satellites at a go? And not only this, India is moving ahead with the Gaganyan mission.
   
• Four years ago, did anyone thought that from start-up to Sports India will step into every field?
   

He went on to highlight the victories of the government in the recent past, like Christian Michel’s extradition and the Congress being held responsible for the 1984 massacre.
