Eleven girls rescued from brothels after they were injected with growth hormones in Telangana
A shocking incident has come to light where 11 minor girls have been rescued from brothels in a Telangana town. The police have arrested eight traffickers including six women.
The girls who have been rescued are believed to be between seven and 10 years of age.
According to reports, a team was formed which comprised a few police officials and some from the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS).
They raided brothels at Yadagirigutta in Yadagir Bhingir district of Telangana. All the minor girls are reported to be from poor families who were bought through a network of agents at a price of Rs one lakh to Rs two lakh per girl.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Mahesh Bhagwat shared some insights and said that girls were sent to brothels and were looked after till they attained puberty.
They have also been injected with hormonal dosages to aid their growth by the doctors who were hired by the traffickers, Mahesh said.
An inquiry has been initiated against all the accused after a case was registered against them under POCSO and IPC Sections 366A, 373,373,120B. All the young girls have been sent to a rescue home.
