Raipur: The naxals, in insurgency-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, killed a student by branding him as a police informer, a cop said on Wednesday.
The recent killing is being seen as an attempt to regain lost ground by creating panic among the masses.
According to police sources, a group of armed naxals, on November 25, stormed into the victim’s house, identified as Bhairamgarh college first-year student Dipak Farsa, and attacked him with sharp weapons and stones.
Although the incident took place on Sunday night, it came to light only after the villagers informed the police.
The police have also dismissed the possibility of Farsa having any connection with the security forces.
Authorities also said that, after being informed, police forces immediately rushed to the village and launched a searched operation to nab the assailants.
