The cops in Chennai soon denied arrest and said they were on regular patrol. However, director AR Murugadoss Tweeted confirming police’s inquiry at his residence in Chennai. "Police had come to my house late tonight and banged the door several times. Since I was not there they left the premises. Right now I was told there is no police outside my house," said Murugadoss.

Earlier, the film had also faced plagiarism case from the maker of Sengol and piracy threat from a website named ‘Tamil Rockers’.
