At least 18,27,472 students are taking the Class 10 exams conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) begining February 21; 12,87,359 students are taking the Class 12 'board' exams beginning tomorrow
New Delhi: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to start the Board exam 2019 from February 15. The CBSE 12th Class exams will start from February 15 while the 10th exams will begin from February 21.
At least 18,27,472 students, who are taking the Xth Board exams, will continue on their journey of discovery and exploration in school. And, for 12,87,359 students, who are taking the XIIth Board exams, there are higher institutions of learning awaiting their knock on their doors.
According to an official statement from the CBSE, students will get sufficient time between the exams of important subjects and the dates of competitive tests will not coincide with the Board exams. The distribution of students will be done properly to avoid rush at exam centres.
Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, CBSE said that last date for submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for Class-X and Class-XII Boards examination was over on 14 December, 2018. From the data collected in LOC, Date Sheet of Boards examination has been prepared based on the subject combinations opted by the students of Class-X and Class-XII.
It has been observed that this year students have opted about 30,000 combinations of subjects in both the classes. This year, as Board has also decided to conduct the examination of skill subjects in latter half of Feb, 2019, efforts were made to declare the Date Sheet at the earliest, he added.
Bhardwaj further said that while preparing the Date Sheet, following have been kept in mind:
Students may get sufficient time between the examination of important subjects
Dates of competitive examinations may not coincide with the Boards examinations
Delhi University admission schedule as per orders of the High Court, Delhi
Distribution of students to avoid rush at examination centres
Examination of the subjects offered by small number of students is conducted early so that less number of schools is involved/ disturbed.
Students may get more time for preparations by early announcement of Date Sheet.
All Gazetted and Restricted holidays.
School staff involved in the conduct of examinations and parents etc may make their summer break plan accordingly.
For the 22nd consecutive year CBSE is providing Pre-Examination psychological counselling services to students and parents. The programme has been designed as part of the Board’s outreach programme which caters to the heterogeneous students’ and parent’s population and vast geographical network of schools.
The Psychological counselling began on 1st of February, at the time of preparation and during the examinations up to 4th April, 2019 to help students overcome exam related anxiety.
