Trichy: In a burglary case, miscreants robbed Punjab National Bank in Trichy district, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday evening. This incident came to light on Monday as the employees returned after their weekend off.
According to sources, the criminals gained access by breaking a hole at the back of the building by using a gas welding machine, a hammer and other tools. After looting five private lockers in the bank, the miscreants fled from the place, leaving all the tools behind, which they used to gain access to enter the bank.
Speaking to the reporters, Trichy superintendent of police Ziaul Haque said that as of now they could not rule out insider involvement. They have also employed sniffer dogs, forensic and fingerprint experts to identify the accused.
