The elderly man introduced himself as Vincent Christin and said that his son asked him to get down from the car and then sped, leaving him behind in Dharwad, Karnataka.

Dharwad: We have seen this in a Kannada movie Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. But this time, it happened for real. A son left his aged father on Dharwad roads in Karnataka. The elderly man introduced himself as Vincent Christin and said that his son asked him to get down from the car. He then sped away leaving the old man behind.

Residents helped him to get treated in the hospital and put him in an orphanage. The police have taken the issue seriously and are searching for the family members of the abandoned man.

Residents of Garaga village in Dharwad noticed an aged man being dropped off at the roadside. They also saw the vehicle speeding away. Initially, they assumed that an old man might have sought a lift, but after questioning him, they realised that he was abandoned.

The man did not look healthy, so the residents informed the police, who took him to a local hospital. The doctors there stated that he suffered from Alzheimer's disease. He also told the doctors that he lived at Matthikere in Bengaluru, though he failed to tell the exact address of the house.

Vincent Christin loved the church. He is residing at an orphanage near the hospital. He is requesting the inmates and authorities of the orphanage to take him back home. He is said to be requesting that if not the house, he wants to be left at the gates of the church.

A case in this regard has been booked in the Dharwad sub-police station, Basavapur. The cops are trying to get in touch with the man’s family.
