Bees attack 50 people in Karnataka during an event in village

Bees attacked 50 villagers in Kolar, Karnataka, while celebrating their village festival. Earlier this month, six people, including two women, were injured after a swarm of bees attacked them in West Bengal.

Kolar: A swarm of bees attacked 50 villagers in Karnataka's Kolar district on Wednesday while they were celebrating a village festival near Sugatur. The victims were immediately rushed to the Kolar Government hospital for medical treatment, and further information is awaited.

Earlier this month, six people, including two women, were injured after a swarm of bees attacked them on the Ganga Canal road near Belda Bridge, West Bengal. The incident took place on December 10, disrupting the smooth flow of traffic on the road. The injured victims were soon rushed to a nearby hospital where the victims were identified as Sonu, Deepanshi, Hajra, Furkan, Deepak, Arun and Rekha.

Nonetheless, an eight-year-old boy, who is identified as Debdas died after the bee attacked the boy and five others. The five were injured after a swarm of honey bees attacked them in a forest in Odisha's Rayagada district in September. The tragic incident occurred when a group of students of government-run Karubai primary school were collecting mango leaves and flowers for Ganesh puja. Their health condition deteriorated and Debdas died in the hostel that night. The other five children were admitted to the district headquarters' hospital.

Collector Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar and other district-level officials reached the hospital to assess the situation. The doctor, who treated Debdas, said they could have saved the boy if he was provided timely treatment. After visiting the district headquarters' hospital, the collector said she ordered an inquiry into the incident.
