3 Bangladeshi infiltrators on way to Pakistan arrested; search ops underway along LoC

The BSF later moved the Bangladeshis to the Joint Investigation Centre for interrogation and further investigation. The investigating agencies are now trying to find out possible terror links of these three Bangladeshis.

Srinagar: The Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested three Bangladeshi nationals who were trying to cross over to the other side of the border.

In the intervening night of August 27 and 28, BSF’s men noticed some suspicious movement along the international border, after which they challenged and arrested three Bangladeshi nationals who were trying to cross over to other side of the border.

A senior investigating officer told MyNation that two China-made mobile handsets of brand Lava, Rs 630 worth of cash and Bangladeshi coins of denomination Rs 5 were recovered from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as

  • Mohammed Jahangir, son of Sultan Mian, aged 18 years
  • Abdul Kareem, son of Abdul Tandeem, aged 20 years
  • Mohammed Ali, son of Noor Ul Haq, aged 18 years

Search operations in Mendhar and Nowshera

In another development, villagers along the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch districts tipped off the security forces about the presence of some suspicious persons. Following this, a joint team of Army and Police have launched a massive search operation in the area to neutralise suspect.

The Search operation in Mendhar has been called off while the other operation in the Rajouri district in still underway.
