Bailable warrant against Gautam Gambhir in case related to real estate firm he endorsed

The case is against Rudra Buildwell Reality Pvt Ltd and director Mukesh Khurana and HR Infracity Pvt ltd (director Gautam Mehta) wherein Gambhir was the brand ambassador and the allegations are of cheating, conspiracy and misappropriation of huge sums of money from various investors who had invested in flats coming up in Indirapuram

New Delhi: A bailable warrant has been issued against former India batsman Gautam Gambhir in an alleged cheating case related to a real estate firm for which he was a brand ambassador.

On Wednesday, Saket court’s chief metropolitan magistrate Manish Khurana issued a bailable warrant against Gambhir stating, “conceding the fact that the accused Gautam Gambhir has not been appearing in this case repeatedly and he has not appeared even despite the dismissal of his exemption on the last date of hearing”.

The court issued a bailable warrant in the sum of Rs 10,000 against Gambhir with one surety in the like amount for the next date of hearing, which is on January 24, 2019.

Khurana collected several crores of rupees by projecting Gambhir as the brand ambassador despite the project’s land being under litigation.

It is worth mentioning that recently the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) had also termed Rudra group as a defaulter because of the delay in projects.
