The State Bank of India recently halved the daily withdrawal limit to Rs 20,000 per day from Rs 40,000 per day – in order to curb ATM frauds and to promote online transactions
New Delhi: Every bank has a set amount that a person can withdraw from an ATM, and the cash withdrawal limits vary from bank to bank. It also depends on what type of account and card one owns.
Here’s a look at how much you can withdraw from your bank’s ATM:
The State Bank of India recently halved the daily withdrawal limit to Rs 20,000 per day from Rs 40,000 per day – in order to curb ATM frauds and to promote online transactions. This would be effective from October 31 and is only applicable on SBI’s classic debit card. However, for SBI’s platinum card, one can withdraw up to Rs 1 lakh per day. No withdrawal limit has been put on other SBI cards.
According to HDFC’s website, one can withdraw up to Rs 1 lakh per day from the ATM using the HDFC platinum chip debit card.
PNB allows cash transactions up to Rs 50,000 per day from ATMs using PNB platinum and RuPay debit cards. If one uses PNB classic RuPay and Master debit cards, the cash withdrawal limit is Rs 25,000.
ICICI Bank has a cash withdrawal restriction of Rs 1 lakh per day on ATMs using a platinum identity chip debit card and up to Rs 1.5 lakh using ICICI visa signature debit card.
Axis Bank allows ATM cash transactions up to Rs 40,000 per day using their RuPay platinum debit card, while one can withdraw up to Rs 50,000 using Axis Bank visa titanium prime plus and secure plus debit cards.
