Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah while talking about his upcoming Bengal rally, scheduled to take place on August 11, said he will go ahead regardless of police permission and even if he is arrested.
Shah and Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee are at loggerheads with each other over the final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), which has kept approximately 40 lakh people out of the list.
The ruling party TMC also challenged BJP to implement NRC in Bengal.

"The BJP has the audacity to say that they would implement NRC in Bengal and thinks only they and their supporters would stay in India and rest will have to leave the country," said Banerjee, as reported.
Meanwhile, meetings are going on regarding the Bengal rally, which is expected to happen in Shyam Bazar, Bhupen Bose Avenue. State BJP in charge Kailash Vijayvargiya, national secretary Rahul Sinha and key face of BJP in the state Mukul Roy are discussing how to up the ante in Bengal.
Few days back, Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh warned people sympathising with illegal Bangladeshis living in India and said they will be deported as well.
