After Blue Whale, Momo challenge pushing children to suicide

Momo challenge is an online game, where an account with a disturbing photo named 'Momo' selects and contacts children and gives them tasks. If the participant fails in any task, then he/she is threatened with disturbing images.


Following the same modality of the Blue Whale Challenge, now the Momo challenge is speculated to be spreading, forcing children to commit suicide.

A death of a 12-year-old girl from Argentina is linked to Momo death. She had recorded her death on phone before killing herself. The police suspect that someone pushed her towards taking her life. The cops are currently trying to trace the person with whom the victim had a conversation with.

The account is said to be have been connected to three numbers in Japan, Mexico, and Columbia.

The disturbing imagery used is an inspiration of the artwork by Link Factory and is titled Mother Bird. The creator of Mother Bird, Midori Hayashi, according to the police, is not connected with Momo imagery or game.

Many deaths were reported linked to Blue Whale challenge in India. In the same way, there are chances that Momo challenge will also spread to the country. So far, there are no reports of anyone being trapped by the Momo challenge in India.
