Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao (KTR), son of caretaker chief minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekhar Rao , filed his nomination from Sircilla constituency in a low key affair on Monday.
KT Rama Rao, who was the minister for IT and municipal administration in Chandrasekhar Rao's caretaker government, announced total annual income for the financial year 2017-18 as Rs 74.6 lakh whereas it was Rs 29,59,219 in 2014.
Currently, Rama Rao and his spouse disclosed total movable assets worth Rs 31,53,59,828 (Rs 5,11,25,759 in 2014) and total immovable assets worth Rs 10,29,34,600 (Rs 2,87,53,690 in 2014), bringing his gross total assets to Rs 41,82,94,428 (Rs 7,98,79,449 in 2014). When compared to 2014, the worth of his assets declared in 2018 has increased more than 400% from 2014.
Income of Rama Rao's wife, Shaimila Kalvakuntla, has also increased from Rs 21,50,720 in 2014 to Rs 4,59,53,822 in 2018.
According to his nomination filed on November 19, Rao declared that his wife Shailima has nearly four kg gold and diamonds and has assets worth over Rs 36.70 crore (as per current market value) with Rs 27.39 crore liabilities.
Rama Rao has declared immovable assets worth Rs 1.30 crore and liabilities of Rs 33.28 lakh.
Rama Rao earned about Rs 74 lakh. He said that his main source of income is from agriculture. His wife's income stood at Rs 4.60 crore.
He is facing 16 criminal cases, which were filed during the separate Telangana statehood agitation in 2011-13, according to the affidavit.
Rama Rao's arch rival KK Mahender Reddy of the Congress has fixed assets worth Rs 3.80 crore and movable assets worth Rs 41 lakh.

Congress state working president Revanth Reddy has assets worth about Rs 9.67 crore while his wife has assets worth Rs 11.71 crore with liabilities worth Rs 1.47 crore and 1.36 crore respectively. According to his affidavit, Reddy has 35 cases against him.
