World Book and Copyright Day is a day set aside to encourage people to read and love books. Every year on April 23rd, ceremonies are held all around the world to commemorate the scope of books.

Every year, on April 23, World Book and Copyright Day, commonly known as World Book Day, is celebrated. The day is observed by the United Nations, educational, scientific, and cultural organizations, and other relevant organizations around the world to honor authors and books, as well as to promote the art of reading.

Most governments have implemented copyright legislation, which grants writers or producers of original material exclusive rights for a specified period of time.

So it is a sort of intellectual property. World Book and Copyright Day celebrates books and reading, with a special emphasis on promoting and protecting indigenous languages.

Here is all the required information for the day:

History:
The United Nations, Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organizations have designated April 23rd as World Book Day to honor famous literary personalities such as William Shakespeare, Miguel Cervantes, and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, all of whom died on this date. This date was set in 1995 by the United Nations General Conference of Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organizations, which was held in pairs to pay tribute to and appreciate authors and books around the world. The Catalan Day of Books, known as Dia del Llibere, inspired the concept for a book-themed day. Every year, on April 23, Catalonia celebrates Dia del Llibere.

Theme of the year:
The theme for World Book and Copyright Day 2024 is 'Read Your Way,' which emphasizes the value of reading as a source of enjoyment and inspiration. It also intends to inspire children and adults to find new ways to engage with books that are relevant to their lives.
