New Delhi: Ustad Amjad Ali Khan will be receiving the Sumitra Charat Ram Award for Lifetime Achievement this year in New Delhi on November 15.
The sarod maestro has had many musical achievements and so do his sons — Amaan and Ayaan Ali Bangash. The trio also has a new project in the offing that was almost revealed when Ustad was spotted strumming a guitar.
Initiated by Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, the award aspires to create a benchmark for custodians of Indian cultural forms. The prestigious award was first instituted in 2010 and was presented to Pt. Birju Maharaj, the doyen of Kathak.
