The Uttar Pradesh Government has introduced several initiatives under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme. One such initiative is the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, which offers financial assistance to girls from their birth through their college education. Let’s learn about other benefits of this scheme.
Kanya Sumangala Yojana was launched in 2019. The financial benefits under this initiative are offered in six stages. The government ensures proper availability of the scheme across all districts of Uttar Pradesh.
Previously, the Kanya Sumangala Yojana offered financial assistance of Rs 15,000. Starting from April 2024, Uttar Pradesh government will provide Rs 25,000 for girls’ education. Additionally, upon completing all vaccinations for a year, the girl child will now receive Rs 2,000 instead of the previous Rs 1,000.
Follow these steps to register for the Kanya Sumangala Yojana:
1. Visit https://mksy.up.gov.in/women_welfare/index.php
2. Click on the option for new customer registration.
3. Fill out the registration form with the required information.
4. Upon successful submission, you will receive a user ID.
5. Login again with the user ID.
6. Attach necessary documents like Aadhar card, Voter ID card, electricity bill, bank account details, and a photo.
7. Submit the form to complete the registration process.
