Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is one of the most difficult exams in India. It not only tests your knowledge and intelligence, but it also challenges your will, personality, and dedication. Thousands of aspirants dream of acing the Civil Services Examination (CSE) every year, but only a few make it to the list as it requires tenacious hard work and rigorous discipline.
Results of UPSC CSE 2023 were announced recently, and India got its new batch of civil officers. Aditya Srivastava All India Rank (AIR) 1 followed by Animesh Pradhan (AIR 2), and Ananya Reddy (AIR 3) are among the toppers who cracked the CSE and made their dreams come true.
Many students look up to these hard workers and aspire to attain their goals just like them. Here are the UPSC CSE 2023 toppers and their insightful tips to crack the UPSC exam.
1. Aditya Srivastava (AIR 1)Aditya preaches the importance of consistency. In an interview with ANI, he said, "I would just say that being consistent and hard work along with smart work is the key to doing whatever you want to achieve and the same holds well for this field as well."
He also revealed that he reduced his sleeping time and dedicated 10-14 hours to his study. Additionally, he talked about doing smart work along with hard work to save time. He went through the previous years' question papers and solved them to practice.
2. Animesh Pradhan (AIR 2)Animesh highlights the value of revision and testing yourself again and again. His advice for the upcoming candidates is to do a number of mock tests, evaluate your performance and make a study plan based on that.
For better answer writing Animesh suggests following a template that works for you, having a catchy introduction, and providing all necessary diagrams or graphs to the answer.
3. Donuru Ananya Reddy (AIR 3)Annaya advises starting with an easy study approach, dedicating 6-8 hours daily to prevent burnout, and gradually increasing the intensity to 12-14 hours. This is the same tactic she followed herself.
During her preparation, she focused on adhering to a timeline and breaking down the vast syllabus into smaller, manageable chunks. She created a systematic plan and stuck to it for optimum time usage.
