According to a study by SEMrush online shopping is the latest cool and Indians are going all out on online sales
Bangalore: Having a tough time keeping yourself away from sales on your favourite online shopping portals? Well, you're not alone. Turns out India is a country of raging online shopaholics with a penchant for Zara, Adidas garments and fake Vans shoes.
Digital marketing suite SEMrush tracked the online fashion search data to uncover online shopping trends as well as the hottest shopping destinations on the Internet.
Athleisure or the sporty chic trend won't be going anywhere any time soon since sportswear brands such as Adidas and Nike are the most searched. Fast fashion from ZARA, Mango and Forever 21 are also quite in demand.
While Myntra, Jabong, Ajio, and H&M are the most visited e-commerce sites, the key to attract more shoppers is by offering discount worth 70% and 50% during other seasons.
According to the SEMrush traffic for online fashion sites globally increased by 27% during the last year.
Interestingly, ‘trendy clothes’ and ‘sexy clothes’ tags are most-searched by Indian shoppers. Meanwhile, Supreme, Ray Bans, Roots, Diesel and Vans are everyone's favourite fake fashion brand.
Speaking about the results Rohan Ayyar, regional marketing of SEMrush said, “We are excited to learn so much about consumer behaviour in India. Our study has successfully revealed fresh information about how consumers shop and what kinds of apparel they are most attracted to. This information is invaluable to brands that wish to remain competitive.”
