New Delhi: While you may already know how harmful chemical Holi colours can be for your skin and hair, it is hard to keep track of who is applying what while playing Holi. Not to mention the hair accidents that may happen when accessories get stuck in the hair.
"I think that earrings are not necessarily a great idea, especially if you are running around a lot. I also don't suggest very heavy jewellery, but otherwise smaller jewellery that doesn't get stuck in your hair is completely fine. A scarf or bandana can be worn in many ways in your hair that can help protect it and look fashionable too," says accessories designer Ayesha Kapur. So, the best way to make sure your skin and hair are Holi-proof, all you need is a little help from the cosmetics department.

You can also apply conditioner or hair oil on dry hair to amp up the protection. After the festivities, it is easier to wash off the colour from your hair too.
"Keep it simple and go au naturel, use milk and cream as a gentle exfoliator for your scalp to get rid of colour and dirt. After a shower, regain the lost moisture by applying warm coconut oil from your scalp to the tips with the help of cotton pad, "says hair expert Chandni, Paul Mitchell. The rough Holi-play can also cause breakage to your hair and cause split-ends, so, check out as we try out her pick of hairstyles to keep your tresses safe.
