National Handloom Day is to be celebrated on 7th August, the preparations for which are being made all over the country| This is the 8th Handloom Day in the country at the 75th Amrit Mahotsav of Independence and will be celebrated by Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, through his tweet, has also urged the countrymen that, "Let us support "local for vocal" handloom products!

National Handloom Day is celebrated on 7th August every year to recognize the contribution of handloom weavers in India. On this day, the handloom weaving community is honoured, and the contribution of this sector to the socio-economic development of this country is highlighted.
