Hint: It was over a couture jacket

Mumbai:  Filmmaker Karan Johar has been the uncrowned fashionista of Bollywood for long now. His penchant for designer streetwear brands is popular as well as a subject of many jokes especially by his India's Got Talent co-judge and actor Kirron Kher. You just need to take a look at his Instagram account to get in on it.

However, in a recent tête-à-tête with Neha Dhupia during her podcast show, No Filters Neha, Johar revealed his biggest ongoing fashion war with none other than singer Diljit Dosanjh. He said, "So I’ve a big problem Neha, I am really troubled by Diljit Dosanjh. I mean, like you know the thing is that, I think we’re both are like crazy shoppers and I think we wear invariably landing up wearing the same clothes because we have the same brands that we love, and plus they are also from the new collection."

He also shared the time when the Do You Know hitmaker made him cry. Turns out it was over a couture jacket. "I’m also an online shopper, so I go through this process of buying these things and wearing them on occasion. But Diljit buys and wears, immediately and puts up an image. So, we had this faux fur jacket from a brand called as GCDS (God Can't Destroy Streetwear) and I was saving it for my big photo opportunity time when I was travelling to Europe and suddenly the night before I take that flight, I see the image uploaded by Diljit Dosanjh and he uploaded and I was like I called Nikita, my stylist and I’m like I’m shattered, I’m broken and I’m totally like Channa Mereya out right now because I’m like I wanted to wear this jacket and that was my FWP (First World Problem). And, I was so upset, it broke my heart."

Well, this is the jacket that Karan is talking about. Created by 'Made-In-Italy streetwear brand', GCDS, this jacket retails at almost Rs 60,000 plus import duties.

So not cool, Diljit! We cannot help feeling bad for K-Jo. After all, he does take fashion quite seriously and even admitted on his talk show Koffee With Karan how meticulously he plans his airport looks, going as far as informing the paparazzi to picture his outfit.

Here's hoping Kirron would let him go easy after reading this sad fashion tale. Toodles!
