If you are health conscious, or a patient of diabetes, then you no longer need to keep your distance from sugar. You can indulge in these healthy recipes for the best Holi celebration.

With Holi festival around the corner, the anticipation for enjoying sweets and snacks has already begun. However, people with diabetes or those avoiding sugar may find limited options in traditional sweets. Here are some suggestions for sugar-free sweets you can enjoy during Holi festivities.

Kesar Thandai

You may not be aware of it, but Thandai is not only delicious but also beneficial for health. If you prefer to avoid sugar, you can substitute honey for sugar when preparing Thandai. Honey has anti-inflammatory properties, which can benefit the body without causing harm.

Kaju Katli

Enjoy Holi by indulging in sugar-free Kaju Katli. By using naturally sweet ingredients such as cashews, rose water, milk powder, and dried rose petals, Kaju Katli can be prepared without the need for added sugar. You can even prepare this delightful treat at home with no extra help.

Kheer

For a naturally sweet and delicious kheer, skip using sugar and opt for date puree instead. Dates are renowned for their natural sweetness, making them an excellent alternative to sugar in kheer. Remove the seeds from the dates and grind them well in a mixer. Then, when preparing the kheer, add the date puree to the mixture once the rice is cooked.

Gujiya

Try making sugar-free Gujiya this Holi by using fruit puree into the mawa filling. To maintain health during the festivities, replace sugar with a mixture of fruit puree and mawa for the filling. Cut apples, pears, plums, and dates finely, then sauté them in a pan with flour. Use this sugar-free fruit mixture as the filling for your Gujiyas. This is a healthier and equally delicious treat for the celebrations.

Kesar Malai Peda

You can make Kesar Malai Peda at home using artificial sweeteners instead of sugar. Opting for sugar-free sweets during Holi can be highly beneficial for your health.
