Young Entrepreneur Turns Down Rs 1 Crore Job Offer to Start Her Own Business

Arushi Agarwal, a 28-year-old from Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad, turned down a lucrative job offer of Rs 1 crore to venture into entrepreneurship. In the year 2020, she launched the startup Talent Decrypt with just Rs 1 lakh investment. Her business aims to assist young people in finding best job opportunities. Gradually, as her business grew, companies from various countries partnered with her venture. In just under four years, her business soared to a valuation of Rs 50 crore. 

Background

Arushi Agarwal is originally from Moradabad district in Uttar Pradesh. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in engineering from Jaypee Institute, Noida. Towards the end of 2018, she began developing a software. After a year and a half of hard work, the software was ready, and she named it TalentDecrypt. 

Job offers

After studying engineering, Arushi interned at IIT Delhi where she received lucrative job offers. She was even offered a job with a salary of Rs 1 crore. However, she turned down the offer to start her own business. Notably, she has also been awarded by the NITI Aayog of the Government of India. 

TalentDecrypt

During the pandemic in 2020, Arushi launched her business with Rs 1 lakh capital. The platform supports the recruitment process for coders. TalentDecrypt features stringent security measures that prevent the use of any external devices during job assessments, thereby simplifying the recruitment process. 

Company's success

According to reports, 380 companies are currently using this platform, including those from Singapore, Sri Lanka, the UAE, the USA, Germany, South Africa, and Nepal. Arushi’s company also organizes hackathons and conducts virtual skill tests for the youth, which then opens up job opportunities for them.
