New Delhi: The founder of Paras Milk, Ved Ram Nagar started the milk production business by selling 60 litres of milk, and today, the company has the capacity to produce 36 lakh litres of milk in a day. This tale of success is quite exceptional in the sense that the business was established at a time when Ved Ram Nagar did not have many resources to begin with and yet he managed to become a business giant in India.
Who is Ved Ram Nagar?
Ved Ram Nagar, the founder of Paras Industries Group, was born on 20 April 1933 in Khekra, Bhagpat district of Uttar Pradesh. At the young age of 27, he laid the foundation of his business in 1960. Back then, the daily milk sales amounted to just 60 litres of milk. Gradually, the good quality of milk attracted more customers and Ved Ram Nagar decided to expand the business.
In 1980, a firm was launched with the name ‘Ved Ram Veer Singh,’ and in 1984, a manufacturing unit was established in Gualavathi, Bulandshahr. The foundation of VRS Food was laid in the year 1986.
He was even called ‘Milk King’ due to his immense success. Maintaining decades of legacy, Ved Ram Nagar died in the year 2005. Paras Industries Group remains a successful and thriving business.
Business endeavours
In the year 1987, a milk plant was inaugurated in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. Establishment of a second plant in 1992, helped the company reach the heights of success. By 2004, the business had expanded to other states of the country like Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
The change in company’s name
After the demise of Ved Ram Nagar, the name of the company was changed to Vedram & Sons Private Limited in the year 2008. The production capacity of the already existing milk plants was increased, and new plants were established at multiple places. Presently, the daily sales of the company are around 36 lakh litres of milk. This milk production business is counted among the top ten milk companies of the country.
Ved Ram Nagar’s family
Ved Ram Nagar’s son Surendra Nagar is a Member of the Parliament. His other four sons run the business together. Ved Ram Charitable Trust was launched to work in the sector of social work. The company works in collaboration with 5 thousand farmers from all over the country.
