People pass by the tea shop admiring Monalisa, however she remains engrossed in her work, oblivious to the attention. Despite facing opposition from her father, Monalisa ventured to open her own tea shop and has now become self-reliant while pursuing her college degree.
Who is Monalisa?
Monalisa is the first woman from Bhagalpur to establish a tea-selling business. She has her parents and a sister in her family. Presently, she is pursuing her graduation from Tilkamanjhi University, Bhagalpur. Apart from the tea shop, Monalisa also provides tuition classes to school children for financial independence.
Overcoming challenges
When, in the second year of her college, Monalisa expressed her desire to her family of opening a tea stall, she faced strong opposition from her father. Almost a year ago i.e., on 7 February 2023, she launched her tea shop with the support of her mother and sister. Monalisa also takes a deep interest in singing. She can often be observed humming songs while preparing delicious tea for her customers.
The Classic Tea
Monalisa’s startup ‘The Classic Tea’ serves as an inspiration for many other girls. The shop bustling with customers, offers not only tea but also buns and pizzas. Monalisa manages the shop from 2 pm to 7 pm and a cup of tea is priced at Rs 10.
